Abstract

Danny Orcutt, 12, of South Portland, erected a free-standing basketball hoop on the island of land in the middle of the cul-de-sac where he lives. An old city law bans ball-playing of any kind on city streets, and someone has complained about Danny's hoop, forcing the city council to take the issue up at tonight's meeting.
