Abstract

Superior Court justice Kermit Lipez has upheld the wording of a proposed ballot question sponsored by the group Concerned Maine Families. The referendum, if approved, would limit the classes protected under future state and local laws and repeal existing laws which expand those classifications. The wording of the ballot question had been challenged by the Maine Civil Liberties Union and the Gay and Lesbian Advocates and Defenders as misleading. Details.
