AIDS Memorial Quilt Display in the Atrium of Portland Public Library, 2015
In 2015, Portland Public Library hosted a display of sections of the AIDS Memorial Quilt in the library’s light-filled Atrium. The AIDS Memorial Quilt is the largest community art project in the world and commemorates the hundreds of thousands of lives lost to AIDS. You can read more about the history of the Quilt here.
Portland Public Library’s Archivist and Special Collections Librarian, Abraham A. Schechter, beautifully documented the library’s display in this small collection of photographs.
