Description

This 30 page booklet describes the public school facilities renovation plan for Portland Public Schools, to be completed in 1960. At the time (1959) the money appropriated ($2,150,000) was the largest single appropriation for public school construction in the history of Maine. Why the proposed building program is needed and what the changes are hoped to accomplished are outlined. Architectural plans and landscape drawings are depicted for Jack Junior High, King Junior High, Lincoln Junior High, Lyman Moore Junior High and North Deering Elementary School, Deering High School, and Portland High School are included, as well the architectural firms involved.
