Description
Article caption:
"Girls Join Messenger Staff.
The lusty baritone of the singing telegram soon will give way to a sweet soprano for the duration of the war. Because of the increased demands for its services and a shortage of available manpower the Portland Office of the Western Union Telegraph Company (13 Monument Square) added three girls to its messenger staff Friday. Left to right are Gloria Bonville, of 203 Franklin Street, Sally Kane of 5 Larch Street, and Santa DiDonato of 9 Monroe Street."
