To the Mayor of Portland Me
Dear Friend
I have forwarded one chest of Oolong Tea for the benefit of the destitute widows and others who lost all by the recent calamitous fire –
Please put it into proper hands for distribution—
Your people have our deepest sympathy in this great calamity—
I send the [ ??] Adams Co Express – who take it free.
Truly yours for the suffering the world over
