Abstract
A selection of articles by students from a medieval African history course at the University of Southern Maine. Introduced by course professor Dr. Lacey Sparks, the articles are: "Legacy of a Female Pharaoh" (about Hatshepsut); "The Roles of Women in Medieval Africa;" "Historical African Crops: the Maine Perspective" (which references the experience of the Somali Bantu community planting African crops at the Little Jubba Agrarian Commons in Wales, Maine); and "Lasting Impact of Ancient Trade Routes."
