Article about the first in-person gathering of the Naija (Nigerian) community in Maine as represented by a 120-member WhatsApp group. Details the origins of the group, created by Emmanuel Juwah and fortified by a merger with a Facebook group of Nigerian Mainers started by Anita Nwanna-Nzewunwa. Describes the group's steady progress toward becoming a formal organization, including their first in-person social gathering in Augusta in July 2022. Members of the group discuss their craving for community in their new home and the ways they support each other.
