Abstract

An overview of several bills before the Maine Legislature that could impact people of color in the state. Among the bills to be considered are LD 199 which would remove exclusions to MaineCare and LD 430 which would require hospitals to provide translators. Other bills include LD 937 which hopes to find a solution to foreign-trained physicians who are unable to practice medicine here, and LD 279 which would protect citizens from discrimination by public entities.
