Abstract

A description of the Peer Workforce Navigator project (PWN), a program seeking to assist the immigrant and BIPOC communities in Maine access services such as healthcare, food assistance, and unemployment insurance. Discusses the barriers which can block members of these communities from receiving services, or discourage them from applying. Discusses how assigning Peer Workforce Navigators to various community organizations - such as Maine Equal Justice and Gateway Community Services - allows the PWNs to work with individuals to overcome these barriers.
