Abstract

An update on the Somali Bantu Community's Liberation Farms notes not only the bustle of summer activity, but developments such as staffing changes and the anticipated construction of new farm buildings. Also noted are relationships forged and deepened with area farmers through help with labor and loans of equipment, a new food and cultural exchange program with the Mi'kmaq Nation in Presque Isle, and Kasheekee, a cultural program for Somali Bantu youth.
