Abstract

Profile of Adele Masengo Ngoy, fashion designer and owner of Antoine's Tailor Shop and Formal Wear on Portland's Congress Street. When Ms. Masengo arrived in Portland from the DR Congo seventeen years ago, she was overwhelmed by the language barriers and culture shock. But she grew to love Portland and in 2011, she founded Women United Around the World, a nonprofit dedicated to helping New Mainer women adjust to life in the U.S.
