Abstract

French translation of the profile of Lucie Narukundo, the owner of Moriah Store at 364 Cumberland Ave in Portland. She fled wars in Africa, arriving in the U.S. as an asylum seeker in 2010. She studied English and eventually worked with CEI to start her business. Moriah Store stocks African groceries and other merchandise. Ms. Narukundo shares her thoughts about her experience in Maine and offers some advice to newcomers.
