Abstract

Northland Company of Massachusetts wants to develop a 27-lot subdivision on Long Island, but won't proceed with the project until it's satisfied that the 176-acre parcel it plans to purchase from Phoenix Resources is free of environmental and public health hazards. Part of the land served as an old Navy fueling facility, and the state Department of Environmental Protection must approve the cleanup. Details.
