Abstract
Around 39 percent of Portland's registered voters went to the polls on November 7. Referendum Question One was defeated by a 53 percent to 47 percent margin statewide, while 66 percent of Portland voters opposed the measure. City voters approved a $1.2-million bond for the renovation of Portland's middle schools.
