Abstract

Lenny Axelrod of Massachusetts, owner of the former Owen Moore clothing store on Congress Street in Portland, donated the building to the city. Virginia Hildreth, Portland's economic development director, said the city is trying to get rid of the building, and the price will be cheap. The building is currently assessed at more than $500,000, and officials couldn't predict how much renovations would cost.
