Abstract
The Yellow Bike Project put ten free bikes on the streets of Portland on June 4 as part of Commute Another Way Day. The group hopes to add another 30 bikes by September. Many of the original bikes were taken for personal use, though a few have met with less desirable fates. Project leader Sandy Vogels said around 20 bikes have been donated since the start of the program, and teens at the Maine Youth Center are going to work on them to turn them in to Yellow Bikes.
