Abstract

Lulla Hudson, an African American attorney who worked as a victim witness advocate in the Cumberland County District Attorney's office, filed complaints with the Maine Human Rights Commission and the federal Equal Employment Opportunity Commission alleging she was discriminated against because of her race. The Maine Department of Labor ruled that Hudson was unjustly fired, at which point Hudson and District Attorney Stephanie Anderson signed an agreement under which Hudson would receive 10 months of lost wages and benefits.
