Abstract
The Environmental Defense Fund in March 1990 estimated that 12 percent of Portland children between six months and five years of age have dangerously high levels of lead in their blood. The Maine Legislature in April 1992 passed a revised Lead Poisoning Control Act, but the state still lacks a comprehensive program for controlling lead poisoning. Details.
