Abstract

"City" piece on the lack of a central translation service in the area. Despite Portland's rapidly growing refugee population, Mercy Hospital and Maine Medical Center have to rely on an AT&T translator service when dealing with non-English speakers. Reza Jalali of the Ethnic Minority Coalition said his group has plans to create a system that works better.
