Abstract

"Edge" piece on Hi Le, 49, of Portland, who fled Vietnam in 1980. Le, owner of Hu-Shang Restaurant on Exchange Street, is learning to make beer with the brewers at Shipyard Brewery of Portland. Le plans to start a brewpub in Saigon, and believes the business could be operating in six months.
