Abstract

"City" piece on current efforts in Maine to legalize marijuana for medicinal purposes. State senator Anne Rand has introduced legislation that would provide a defense for anyone who has a written recommendation from a physician to use marijuana. State representative Kathleen Stevens is sponsoring a bill that includes provisions dealing with access to marijuana. The group Maine Vocals is preparing a rederendum that would allow anyone diagnosed with a serious illness to possess and cultivate marijuana. Details.
