Abstract

"Sportland" piece on John Donovan of Portland, who has two 40-foot-long, clay-pit regulation horseshoe courts in the back yard of his house on Park Avenue. Donovan is trying to get his backyard "Mr. D's Horseshoes League" sanctioned by the National Horseshoe Pitchers Association.
