Abstract
In mid-April, the Trust for Public Land, acting on behalf of Portland Trails, purchased an option on the 1.7-mile long abandoned railbed that runs from Commercial Street around the eastern part of the peninsula to Tukey's Bridge. The 30-acre rail corridor, if purchased and converted into a recreational pathway, would allow pedestrians and bicyclists to travel from the popular Back Cove path to the Old Port without facing traffic hazards.
