Abstract
"Politics and Other Mistakes." Maine Republicans are facing a shortage of candidates for next year's elections, but even they might be skeptical of nominating Ross Connelly. The Biddeford conservative hopes to oppose Democratic Congressman Tom Allen in the 1998 election, but he has lived in Maine only six months. His primary opponent will likely be state Representative David Ott (R-York). In the second Congressional district, State Representative Bob Winglass (R-Auburn) has decided not to challenge Congressman John Baldacci.
