Abstract

"Politics and Other Mistakes" piece on Sean Faircloth, the runner-up in the 1996 Democratic primary for U.S. Senate, and his comments about the recent spate of referendum questions in Maine. With a piece on state representative Mike Saxl, D-Portland, who with his mother, state representative Jane Saxl of Bangor, is pushing for an East-West highway running from Calais through Bangor and on to New Hampshire.
