Abstract

"Politics and Other Mistakes" piece on the problem of passing an anti-discrimination law. Bar Harbor voters last month voted to keep the state's gay-rights law, and because of its repeal two Bar Harbor town councilors have announced plans to sponsor a local ordinance. A similar effort is underway in Camden, and citizens in several municipalities where the law gained broad support have discussed the idea of a local gay-rights law.
