Abstract
A pirate radio station operating from the eastern end of South Portland went off the air after a March 24 visit from the Federal Communciations Commission. The outlaw station was operating at 97.3 FM. What prompted the FCC's action against the station is unclear, but several Portland-area radio stations and the Maine Association of Broadcasters all denied notifying the authorities about the pirate.
