Abstract

Taylor Mali formed the Maine Institute of Slam Poetry shortly after his arrival in Maine a few months ago, and in November organized the first poetry slam at Granny Killam's Industrial Drinkhouse on Market Street in the Old Port. The poems performed at the slams are judged by a panel of judging teams, with the winners receiving a $20 cash award and losers being heckled by the audience. Details.
