Abstract

"Sportland" piece on sportclimbing, and on Graham and Luke Parady, both sophomores at Portland High School, who are the only two climbers in Maine to have mastered a sportclimbing problem route of the maximum difficulty. The pair finished first and second at the Junior Regional Sportclimbing Championships in Burlington, Vermont, last summer. Erik Mushial, who met them while teaching at the Maine Rock Gym, has climbing walls in his back yard, which they tackle problems on.
