Abstract

In line with an increase nationwide, liquor law violations at the University of Southern Maine, rose from one in 1995 to six in 1996. Beginning in September, money from an higher mandatory student-health fee will be used to pay for a full-time substance abuse counselor. The new position was recommended by the Greek Life Review Task Force that investigated complaints related to excessive drinking and discrimination against minorities, by fraternities and sororities at the college.
