Abstract
Democratic state representative Christopher Muse of South Portland was stopped by Portland police after picking up a 16-year-old prostitute on Congress Street on August 26. He says he was doing research for a legislative committee, but the police disagree with his version of the incident. No crime was committed, since money was not discussed, Muse was not arrested or charged, but he has resigned from his position as staff trainer at the Cumberland County Sheriff's Department. The department is conducting an internal investigation.
