Abstract
"Edge" piece on the Stone Soup restaurant, which has a breakfast and lunch bar at the new Portland Public Market. Founded and owned by the Preble Street Resource Center, Stone Soup is a nonprofit eatery that equips low-income and homeless individuals with a range of job skills, from cooking to customer service. Mark Swann, executive director of the resource center, says the goal is to give people the culinary art skills they need to get jobs in the local food industry.
