Abstract

"Politics and Other Mistakes" piece on Maine Won't Discriminate and South Portland Citizens for Justice, two organizations calling on voters to support a referendum that would establish a gay rights ordinance in South Portland; and a battle between incumbent Democratic State Treasurer Dale McCormick, and Democratic House Speaker Libby Mitchell, who is being forced out of office by the term limit law and wants the appointed state treasurer's post.
