Abstract
Feature article on John Lomba, 30, a music promoter who wants to start a new music venue in Portland. Lomba is not discouraged by the fact that other Portland music clubs, including Morganfield's, Granny Killams, Millennium and Raoul's Roadside Attraction have all closed their doors in the past few years. In addition to showcasing local talent, Lomba wants to sell locally produced CDs, market the promotional material of Portland bands, and help to fund art scholarships. With references to problems associated with several other local music clubs including Zootz, the Bitter End and the Free Street Taverna.
