Abstract
"Edge" piece on Gary King of Yarmouth, who wanted to hear on the radio more of the type of music called "swing," from the 1930s and 1940s, so he started his own radio station. King, 64, went on the air on Nov. 16, 1998, and has learned the "swing" style is enjoying a comeback. He said he's even willing to add new "swing" albums to his playlist, which currently consists of over 5,000 78-rpm records from his personal collection. WYAR-FM is found at 88.3 on the dial and features programs such as "The American Musical Heritage."
