Abstract
"Edge" piece noting that more people are watching Portland's public access Channel 2 than ever before. Since the move to new facilities at 100 Oak St. last July, a number of prospective video artists have taken monthly production classes, spurring the creation of new shows. The cable station now features 21 hours of original programming spread over seven days a week. In June the station received $161,000 to pay for upgraded equipment with most of that coming from Time Warner Cable, but $25,000 came from the Portland City Council in an unprecedented show of support. With a brief description of several shows now being aired regularly.
