Abstract
"Stop the Presses" piece on the USAsian News, a small, newly created newspaper for Portland's Asian community that will be launched in mid-April by Tong Vaun, 30, a native Cambodian and owner of the Portland Donut Shop on Longfellow Square. Vaun created the newspaper because he's tired of reading only bad things about the local Asian community and its people, and to strengthen the Asian community's' awareness of its heritage. The first edition will spotlight the 3,000 member strong Cambodian community. Future issues will focus on the Laotian, Thai, Indonesian, Vietnamese, Malaysian, Chinese, Korean and Pacific Islands communities.
