Abstract

Editorial on a state law passed last year requiring child-care centers in the state to modify their facilities to make them safer. Many centers do not have the funds to carry out the renovations, but programs like The Child Care Development Project, part of the nonprofit Coastal Enterprises Inc. in Wiscasset, have been helpful in channeling loans to child-care providers who have trouble finding financing elsewhere.
