Abstract
Workers at St. Joseph's Manor in Portland voted 151-29 against joining Teamsters Local 340. Union officials claim the Catholic Diocese, which runs the nursing home, hired anti-union lawyers to persuade workers to vote against unionizing, but Ron Tardif, administrator of the home, said lawyer Peter Bennett was hired only to educate the staff about the Teamsters.
