Abstract
"City" piece on local enthusiasm for a teen committee to advise the Portland City Council. A 1999 survey in Portland showed that 83 percent of high school seniors felt disenfranchised from their community and believed the majority of Portland adults didn't value them. Former city mayor Peter O'Donnell, who is running for a seat on the council this year, is promising to bring together a cross section of local youth to create such a committee if he's elected.
