Abstract

"Edge" piece on a loosely knit group of Portland-area fans of European-made scooters who get together every week. Most of the European models such as the Vespa stopped being exported to the United States in the mid-1980s, when Japanese versions came on the market. But later this year, new Vespas are due to be imported, potentially generating antagonism between lovers of classic and fans of nouveau.
