Abstract

"Politics and Other Mistakes" piece on part-time U.S. Census Bureau employee and Democratic legislative candidate Alton Morgan of South Portland, who has been accused of violating the Hatch Act, which prohibits most federal employees from running for partisan political office; and former state representative and Independent Party founder Ralph Coffman of Old Town, who pleaded guilty in Bangor District Court on Sept. 13 to possessing marijuana.
