Abstract

"Stage" piece on the Maine State Music Theatre and the Figure of Speech Theatre, both of which recently received grants from the National Endowment for the Arts. The Maine State Music Theatre received $2,000 to commission a proposed work based on the life of Joshua Lawrence Chamberlain, and the Figures of Speech Theatre is producing its current show with funds from the NEA, the Davis Foundation, the Jim Henson Foundation and the Maine Arts Commission.
