Abstract
"City" piece on a $12 million bond issue for school renovations that Portland residents may be asked to vote on in November. The money would cover the cost of renovations at the city's Longfellow and Riverton elementary schools. Though all the city's aging 13 elementary schools need repair, city officials say Longfellow and Riverton were chosen because they are the least likely to qualify for state funding to help pay for repairs. With details about repairs needed at some of the city's other elementary schools.
