Abstract
"Sportland" piece on the Kiwanis Pool on Douglass Street in Portland's Libbytown section, which is the city's only public, outdoor pool. Built in the 1960s, the 25-meter-long pool has a lifeguard and a capacity ranging between 50 and 100, but rarely attracts more than a dozen kids even on warm, sunny days. However, that is expected to change next year when the pool gets a $200,000 facelift as part of the city's master improvement plan for parks and recreation facilities.
