Abstract
"City" piece reporting that Ben Meiklejohn, 30, co-chair of the Maine Green Party, is running for an at-large seat on the Portland School Committee against incumbents Kim Matthews and Jeffrey Peters, whose seats are up for grabs in November. Walter Rumery is now the only candidate for Portland's District 3 School Committee seat being vacated by Lisa Toner. Candidates for the District 3 seat on the city council are incumbent at-large councilor Nathan Smith, a lawyer; Pat Bernard, a Maine Medical Center secretary; and John Haley, who works for a medical services company in Sanford. Brian Wallace, of Munjoy Hill has become a candidate for one of two at-large seats on the city council.
