Abstract

"Essay" piece on the annual shareholders meeting of Nike Inc., which will be held at the Portland Expo Sept. 17. The author, who is a Nike shareholder, will be presenting a proposal on Nike's operations in China: U.S. Business Principles for Human Rights of Workers in China. The proposal seeks to promote basic standards of fair and humane treatment for the workers in Nike's facilities and those of its suppliers in China.
