"Edge" piece on how the Greater Portland area's commercial radio stations dealt with the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon. For the most part, regular programming ceased to exist, with most stations picking up the audio from ABC television news or continuous coverage from CBS radio. But within about 15 hours of the incident, they gradually began returning to their regular music format.
