Abstract

"So Noted" piece describing Chris Busby's sense of revulsion upon witnessing a fight between a Portland Pirates' hockey play and an opponent from the Lowell Lock Monsters on November 25. Since the Pirates are partnered with the Children's Museum and aggressively markets itself to families, he was appalled that the slugfest between the two players was allowed to continue uninterrupted by other players or referees for at least thirty seconds, despite presence of young children in the audience. Busby argues that the team should work to end such violence or children should be discouraged from witnessing it.
